How it works

Drop in as many images as you like and this tool re-encodes each one at the quality level you choose, redrawing it on a canvas with your browser's built-in image compression. It processes the whole batch in one go and shows the before-and-after size of every file, plus the total saved. Nothing is uploaded — all the compression happens on your device — and each result has its own download button.

Quality and format

The quality setting trades a little visual detail for a smaller file: High keeps images crisp for close viewing, Medium is a solid balance for the web and email, and Low pushes the size down hardest for thumbnails or previews. For output, "same as input" keeps each image's format, but note that PNG is lossless — it won't shrink much from a quality change, so converting PNG photos to JPG or WEBP usually gives a far bigger saving. WEBP typically produces the smallest files at a given quality.

Typical uses

Batch compression is ideal before uploading photos to a website, attaching several images to an email, or meeting a size limit on a form or portal. Smaller images load faster and use less storage and bandwidth, which matters when you're publishing many at once. Because the tool keeps the original untouched and lets you preview each result, you can pick the quality that looks right before downloading.

Frequently asked questions

Why didn't my PNG get smaller?

PNG is lossless, so the quality slider barely affects it. Switch the output format to JPG or WEBP for a real reduction on photos.

Are the image dimensions changed?

No. Compression keeps the pixel dimensions and only re-encodes the image. To change dimensions, use our Resize Image tool.

Are my images uploaded?

No. Every image is compressed locally in your browser and never leaves your device.
